About

I hiked the John Muir Trail in California in August of 2010. I greatly enjoyed the hike and will never forget my experiences on the trail. I particularly enjoyed climbing over each pass and getting a bird's eye view of the trail leading to the next pass. The trail is approximately 210 miles and goes from the Happy Isles trailhead in Yosemite National Park to the Summit of Mt. Whitney. From Mt. Whitney, it is an additional 11 miles to the Whitney Portal trailhead. The trail passes through the Sierra Nevada mountains and follows the route of the Pacific Crest Trail for much of the distance. A helpful elevation profile can be found at the Pacific Crest Trail Association website.
